Are you true to yourself?

Are you true to yourself?

‘I spend so much time on things that add no value at all!’ ‘I allow myself to be driven by “the big corporate machine”, and I forget myself completely.’ ‘I no longer have any job satisfaction because I only do things other people decide and nothing that motivates ME!’ I often hear statements like this from people who contact me for career coaching. They are fighting an inner battle to “fit in” and deliver, whilst they lose their self-respect and become more and more frustrated, angry and demotivated.

To help people move forward, I ask them how they can contribute more with less inner conflict. Many of us spend little or no time reflecting on “being true to ourselves”. It takes time, energy and courage to look inwards and understand what goes on behind the façade. And then to act on it. Nonetheless, it is essential if we want to avoid compromising and ensure that we fare better in our current role or change to a better job. The following components are therefore vital elements of my career coaching programme:

  • Who am I as a person?
    • What are my personal qualities? And what are my strengths and talents?
  • What is important to me in my working life?
    • What type of organisational culture suits me? And who is my ‘ideal boss’?
  • How do I see myself?
    • Is my self-image mostly positive or negative? What do I tell myself about myself?
  • What are my empowering or limiting habits?
    • What habits do I have that help me achieve a truly satisfying working life, and which habits prevent me from achieving this?

Are you one of those people who are not true to themselves? And are you frustrated about your job situation? Then, I would be very happy to have an informal chat with you about how I can help you move forward. Give me a ring on +45 4026 2022 or send me a message here on LinkedIn. I look forward to hearing from you.
